Hauppauge HS Students Medal At Science Olympiad Regional Competition
Hauppauge High School hosted the 2024 Eastern Long Island Division C Science Olympiad Regional Competition and earned 10 medals.

HAUPPAUGE, NY — Hauppauge High School hosted the 2024 Eastern Long Island Division CScience Olympiad Regional Competition on Saturday, the school district announced.
Hauppauge’s two teams competed amongst 60 total teams, making it the largest regional competition in the state.
Led by physics teachers Briana Becker and Dennis Petercsak, the Hauppauge teams earned 10 medals.

"Congratulations to the following students for their wins in the following events: Tanner Klass and Pranav Vijayababu for their third-place win for 'Air Trajectory;' Sadiq Shaik and Arav Prabhu for their sixth-place win and Jace Cardamone and Akhil Grandhi for their eighth-place win in 'Astronomy;' Ayaan Shah and Israel Rojas for their sixth-place win in 'Chemistry Lab;' Arav Prabhu, Israel Rojas and Sadiq Shaik for their seventh-place win in 'Code Busters;' Savvy Dusad and Pranav Vijayababu for their ninth-place win in 'Disease Detectives;' Arav Prabhu and Ayaan Shah for their sixth-place win in 'GeoLogic Mapping;' Mihika Grandhi and Savvy Dusad for their eighth-place win for 'Microbe Mission;' Arav Prabhu and Ayaan Shah for their seventh-place win with 'Tower' and Mathew Payyanattu and Sri Sagiraju for their ninth-place win for 'Wind Power,'" the district wrote.
Team A won seventh-place overall, earning themselves an invitation to compete at the
State Competition held in Syracuse on March 15 and 16. This will be the sixth consecutive year that
the team has advanced to states.
