Hauppauge Wrestling Team Wins Mamaroneck Wrestling Tournament
The Hauppauge HS wrestling team won with 283 points over runner-up, Clarke High School, with 191 points.

HAUPPAUGE, NY — The Hauppauge High School wrestling team competed in the annual Mamaroneck tournament, winning with 283 points over runner-up, Clarke High School, with 191 points, the Hauppauge School District announced.
Sixteen teams were entered with Hauppauge sending 14 wrestlers to compete. Hauppauge sent eight wrestlers to the finals with five coming away with titles.
Winners for Hauppauge included Jason Difrietus, Elijah Infante, Gino Manta and Trevor Patrovich. Senior Charlie Olaechea won the 160-pound weight class. Sophomore James Moccia and junior Jackson Tacca both finished in third place. Senior Nick Dituro placed fourth with eighth grader Jake Messina and junior Devin Brophy also placing fourth.

Runner-ups included Connor Sheridan, Ryder Smith and Ben Vallone.
"Congratulations to Gino Manta who was voted most valuable player by the coaches," the school district wrote.
