Klipsch Leadership Changes Under Audiovox
Fred Klipsch steps down as CEO to run for Audiovox's Board of Directors, Paul Jacobs promoted to CEO.
Fred Klipsch will be stepping down as the CEO of Klipsch, a designer and manufacturer of loud speakers, that was acquired by Hauppauge-based Audiovox in February.
Audiovox announced on Wednesday that Paul Jacobs has been promoted to president and CEO of Klipsch. Fred Klipsch will remain the company's chairman and has agreed to run for a spot on Audiovox's board of directors at the company's annual meeting in July.
"When we disclosed the acquisition of Klipsch, we indicated that the management of the company would remain, and the culture and philosophy of Klipsch would not change. This appointment assures that direction," said Pat Lavelle, president and CEO of Audiovox, in a statement.

Jacobs has been working for Klipsch since 1992, starting as the head of sales and holding various executive positions.
