LGBT Job Fair Is Wednesday In Hauppage: See Details

More than 30 employers will be at the job fair, the first of its kind in the region.

HAUPPAGE, NY — More than 30 employers will be at the LGBT Network's Hauppage Center on Wednesday for a job fair, where LGBT-inclusive employers can connect with prospective employees.

The job fair is the first of its kind in the region, the LGBT Network said.

The event is Wednesday, Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at 125 Kennedy Drive, Suite 100, Hauppage. Those who wish to attend are asked to register at this link.

Robert Vitelli, executive vice-president and COO for LGBT Network, said it is "the right time" for an LGBT job fair.

"We increasingly hear from businesses that they are looking for more LGBT talent – and we saw it as our responsibility to meet this need and help the LGBT community easily connect with those employers who are actively seeking them," Vitelli said in a news release.

“LGBT people want to work at a company that sees them, understands them, and supports them. There is a documented history of workplace challenges for LGBT people.”

Participating businesses include Capital One, Bell Law Group, Starbucks, ChemBio, Blue Point Brewing Company, Alure Home Improvements, and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

The LGBT Network has community centers across Long Island and Queens.
