Man Had Semi-Automatic Gun In Hotel Room At Jake's 58: Police
The security manager was investigating a report of a barking dog when he saw the gun on the floor of the hotel room, police say.

ISLANDIA, NY - An East Patchogue man was arrested after he was found with a semi-automatic gun in a hotel room at Jake's 58 Casino and Hotel in Islandia on Thursday night.
The Security Manager for the hotel was investigating a report of a barking dog in one of the hotel rooms when he entered the unoccupied room, saw a weapon on the floor, and called police at about 8:15 p.m.
The owner of the gun, 25-year-old Raymond Hansen, returned to the room while officers were at the scene, police said.

Following an investigation, detectives charged Hansen with third degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
Police say Hansen did not intend to use the weapon to cause harm.

In a press conference on Friday afternoon, Suffolk County District Attorney called the situation "concerning."
"That’s why we are taking this investigation extremely seriously," he said during the conference. "We are going to look into his past. We are going to dig and dig until we get the full picture."

Hansen was arraigned in front of Judge Gaetan B. Lozito on Friday afternoon.
Bail was set at $100,000 cash and $250,000 bond, which was posted shortly after arraignment.
His next court date is scheduled for April 11.
