Men Tried to Sell Vehicles Stolen From Roslyn Car Dealership: Police
One of the men purchased the vehicles and cancelled the cashier checks the next day, police say.

Two Hauppauge men were arrested Thursday after police said one of the men fraudulently purchased two Mercedes-Benz vehicles from a car dealership and tried to sell the vehicles in Syosset with an accomplice.
According to authorities, Matthew Gatien, 41, purchased the vehicles from Rallye Motors, located at 1600 Northern Boulevard in Roslyn, on May 13 and cancelled the cashier checks the next day, causing a loss of over $175,000 to the car dealership.
Gatien and John Crane, 54, then contacted a car wholesaler and made arrangements to sell both vehicles, police said. Gaiten and Crane went to deliver the vehicles on Robbins Lane in Syosset when they were placed under arrest without incident, police said. Both vehicles were recovered.
