Nov. 22: Apple Pies, Medicare and Scholarships
This Monday's events start the run-up to Thanksgiving with plenty to be thankful for.

This Monday starts the countdown to Thanksgiving Day with plenty of things to be thankful for. Teens can learn how to make a delicious apple pie in time to share with family while Hauppauge students are grateful for scholarships towards their college education.
1. Teens in grades six to 12 can learn how to make at , 7 p.m. Get ready to roll up your sleeves and assemble a ready-to-bake pie to take home.
2. Attend a being offered at Sunrise Senior Living at Smithtown from 10 a.m. - noon. Learn how to navigate Medicare to apply for the medical coverage plan that best suits you. Senior Services of North America will moderate the event.

3. Take a trip to Hauppauge Public Library to check out their Great Graphic Novel Project. Teens can sign-out one of the American Library Association's top graphic novels to read and review it for community service hours over the long weekend ahead.
4. Hauppauge High School athletes have signed contracts to play for various colleges and universities. Read more on Patch later today.
