Pack 3333 Retires American Flag

Pack 3333 Holds Annual Picnic/Campout @ Blydenburgh County Park

Cub Scout Pack 3333, Hauppauge, scouts, leaders and parents participated in a flag retirement ceremony at the Pack’s annual yearend campout which was held at Blydenburgh County Park on June 13. The flag retirement ceremony was the conclusion to a fun filled day in which the Scouts played various games and participated in the Pack’s first Space Derby.

A battered and torn flag that was previously flown over FDNY Engine 273 and Ladder 129 Firehouse in Flushing, Queens was donated by Captain Congema, Ladder 129, for retirement. Cubmaster Kevin Holtje led the flag retirement ceremony, and Wolf Scout Congema placed the flag into a fire to properly retire the flag.
