ClearVision Optical took a break to celebrate the birthday of its founder this Wednesday. 

Fred Friedfeld, founder of Hauppauge-based , celebrated his 85th birthday at a surprise birthday party this Wednesday, thrown by ClearVision Optical employees and his family. 

Friedfeld started the Hauppauge-based optical company 63 years ago, at the age of 23. While he is still involved in the company, it has passed hands to his sons, David and Peter Friedfeld.
