Police: Man Hit by Car While Chasing Drunk Hit-and-Run Driver Seriously Injured
The incident occurred following a minor 3-car crash on the LIE Wednesday night.

A minor three-car crash on the Long Island Expressway Wednesday night turned into something much more serious after police say one of the drivers fled the scene on foot.
The crash occurred on the express portion of the LIE in Holtsville at 11:44 p.m. Jonathan Moore, of Westbury, got out of his car and fled, but another man attempted to pursue him on foot, police said. As the two men crossed the LIE’s south service road, near Morris Avenue, the pursuing man was struck by a car, police said.
The man who was hit was transported to a local area hospital and is being treated for a serious leg injury, police said.
