Police ID Victims In Fatal LIE Service Road Crash
A 30-year-old man was arrested after the crash, which killed one person and seriously injured two others Monday morning.

HAUPPAUGE, NY - A pickup truck driver was killed and two others were seriously injured in a multi-car crash on the south service road of the Long Island Expressway in Hauppauge early Monday, according to Suffolk Police.
Fernando Ramirez Jr., 30, of Bay Shore, was driving a 2008 Subaru eastbound on Express Drive South when his car struck a 1997 Ford pickup at the intersection with Route 111 at 3:20 a.m. Both vehicles then collided with a 2004 Infiniti that was traveling northbound on Route 111.
An occupant of the Ford, 31-year-old Daniel Granados of Central Islip, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

The driver of the Ford, 32-year-old Richard Fischer of Dix Hills, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The driver of the Infiniti, 26-year-old Anthony Bermudez of Brentwood, was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for minor injuries.

Ramirez was charged with second degree reckless endangerment, fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Ramirez was admitted to Southside Hospital for treatment of serious injuries and will be arraigned at a later date.
All three vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is ongoing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
