
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. - A small plane crashed in a grassy area of an industrial park in Hauppauge Saturday, according to the FAA.
The Cirrus SR22 aircraft crashed around 3:10 p.m. in the 200 block of Marcus Boulevard roughly eight miles northeast of Republic Airport in Farmingdale.
According to the FAA, the aircraft was approaching to land on Runway 1 at Republic Airport when the pilot reported that the aircraft had an engine related problem. The pilot and the passenger on board were said to have minor injuries, Newsday reported.

The FAA will investigate and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will determine the probable cause for the accident.
