Video: Smithtown Firefighters Extinguish Vehicle Fire On Route 347
Time-lapse video shared by the Smithtown Fire Department shows crews extinguishing a vehicle fire near Plaisted Avenue in under 30 minutes.
SMITHTOWN, NY — Smithtown firefighters extinguished a vehicle fire on Route 347 near Plaisted Avenue on Tuesday morning in Hauppage, according to the Smithtown Fire Department.
Fire officials said crews from Engine 4 knocked down the bulk of the fire, while Engine 5 assisted with overhaul operations to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
District ambulance crews and Medic 81 were also on scene.

Fire officials said crews worked together to fully extinguish the fire, drain and pack hoses, and return apparatus to service safely and efficiently. Operations lasted just under 30 minutes under the command of Capt. Murphy.
The Smithtown Fire Department later shared a time-lapse video of the response, showing the full operation from start to finish.
