Smithtown/Hauppauge Hockey Falls to Connetquot, Tied for First

Smithtown/Hauppauge ice hockey fell 5-3, to Connetquot at The Rinx Monday night.

Smithtown/Hauppauge high school varsity ice hockey team received its first lost of the season from Connetquot/Sayville on Monday night. 

Newsday reports that the previously undefeated Smithtown/Hauppauge Bulls lost 5-3 to Connetquot, bringing their overall record to 15-1 for the season. 

Bulls players Dominic Iandoli and Michael Gioia scored first-period goals for Smithtown/Hauppauge. The game was tied at 2 early in the second period before Connetquot/Sayville took the lead for good, according to Newsday.

Smithtown/Hockey player Daniel Nelson also scored a goal for the team late in the third period when Smithtown was already trailing 5-2. 

Smithtown/Hauppauge varsity Bulls remains tied for first place in its division in the Suffolk County High School Hockey League.
