Stores Open for Business on Christmas Day

Christmas is one of the few days of the year where nearly everything's closed, McDonald's and Walmart included. Here's a list of businesses that will be open on Dec. 25.

* Grab bagels for the family on Christmas morning at the Nesconset Bagel Café on Smithtown Boulevard, serving up fresh bagels from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can also travel south on Veterans Highway to the New York Bagel Company in the Islandia Shopping Center from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* If you want a casual brunch locally, will be serving their regular menu plus specials on Christmas. You don't have to make a reservation unless you are a party of eight or more.

* Hauppauge’s IHop on Motor Parkway will also be open early on Christmas morning to serve up fluffy pancakes, omelets and more after the family opens presents.

* Going to the movies on Christmas after opening presents is an annual tradition for some families. Hop in the car and head out to kicks things off with a 9:30 a.m. showing of Arthur Christmas while Island16 in Holtsville will start with The Muppets at noon.
