Teens Charged With Causing $23,000 in Damages to Parked Van: Police
The two also drew a swastika on the van back in August.

HAUPPAUGE, NY - Two teens were arrested on Tuesday for causing $23,000 in damages to a parked van in Hauppauge back in August, according to Suffolk Police.
Apostolos Calamara, 17, of Hauppauge, and a 15-year-old male damaged a 2012 Mercedes Sprinter van that was parked at 400 East Rabro Drive on Aug.29, police said.
The two used a stolen handicap sign to break windows and a wooden pole to damage the exterior of the vehicle.

In addition, they etched graffiti, including a swastika, into the van with a sharp object, police said.
Following an investigation, Hate Crimes Unit detectives arrested Calamara and the teen and charged them with second degree criminal mischief, police said.

Calamara was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday at First District Court in Central Islip and the juvenile was issued an appearance ticket and released to his parents.
