Vicon Launches Software, Medical Action Lands Contract and VHB Buys Planning Company

Vicon launches new software

Hauppauge-based Vicon Industries said Tuesday it released the sixth version of its video management software, ViconNet.

The security and surveillance video systems maker said the new version allows users to view live and recorded video feed from any computer without using any special software, store video long-term more efficiently and develop an archive system that will play on any computer.

Vicon will offer the system as a stand-alone product or pre-installed in workstations and said delivery will being next month.

Updates are available for the company's clients using older ViconNet systems.

Medical Action lands contract

Disposable medical products maker Medical Action Industries said last week it received a three-year contract from Premier Purchasing Partners, a network of more than 2,400 U.S. hospitals.

Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Under the agreement, Hauppauge-based Medical Action will supply its IV site management products to Premier starting Dec. 1. The products will include disposable kits and trays for minor medical procedures.

"We are very excited about this award as it demonstrates how much progress we have made in gaining the trust and confidence of Premier, a valued customer," Medical Action Chief Executive Paul Meringolo said in a statement.

VHB acquires White Plains company

VHB Engineering, Surveying, and Landscape Architecture has acquired a White Plains planning and development company, expanding its New York practice there for the first time.

The New York division of Massachusetts-based Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, which has a Hauppauge office, acquired Saccardi & Schiff and said in a statement it plans more New York expansion in the future.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

VHB  has an office in Albany in addition to its local branch.

"We see New York as a significant area for growth," VHB Chief Executive Bob Brustlin said in a statement. "Our continuing goal is to expand our skills and offerings to create a powerful and complete range of integrated services for our current and future clients in New York."
