BROOKLYN, NY — A man riding an e-scooter was killed in a head-on collision with another bicyclist earlier this week, police said.
The crash happened in the bike lane on Schermerhorn St. in downtown Brooklyn around 2:20 p.m. on Monday.
According to police, a 77-year-old man collided with a bicyclist who was heading in the opposite direction.
The bicyclist was trying to merge into the bike lane when he struck the man.
The 77-year-old was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The victim has since been identified as Thomas Bakas.
No charges have been filed.
