Cafe Customer Ejected Because Manager 'Doesn't Like Black People'
Instagram video shows a Dumbo Kitchen customer accusing its manager of racism. "Everybody in here knows that, already," a worker replies.

DUMBO, BROOKLYN — A cafe worker told two customers they had to leave by explaining her manager didn’t like black people, according to video posted on Instagram on Sunday.
“True racism at its finest,” wrote performance artist Jypsy Jeyfree, who tried to buy water and coffee from Dumbo Kitchen near closing time, but was told by a young woman employee to get out of the store.
“Her reaction was to tell me that her manager doesn't like black people and everyone knows that.”

The video shows the young woman shoving open the cafe door, turning away from Jeyfree and repeating her order to “get out.”
"Your manager doesn't like black people, honey," Jeyfree says.

"Everybody in here knows that already," the woman responds.
When Jeyfree’s companion tries to film the encounter, the employee shoves his phone away.
“My heart hurts because I am such a kind and pleasant woman who treats everyone with respect,” Jeyfree wrote on Instagram. “This world that we live in is in a spiritual warfare ! I am APPALLED! STOP THE HATE!”
After Jeyfree’s video spread across social media —about 13,500 Instagram viewers have seen it —
the angry employee and her manager were fired, the Daily News reported.
The restaurant also tweeted a response to the incident on Monday publicly disavowing the young woman’s behavior.
Hate and Racism will not prevail. We do not stand by the sick comments by our ex-employee for a second. We pride ourselves on fairness and equality. We are taking legal action against these individuals immediately.
