Clark Street Station Will Close Every Single Weekend For A Year, MTA Says
The MTA will suspend 2, 3 service between Manhattan and Brooklyn to complete needed repairs on the Clark Street Tunnel under the East River.
BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — The time has come to consider the ferry because the MTA is closing the Clark Street station this weekend, and every weekend for the next year.
The closure of the 2 and 3 train stations at Clark Street and Hoyt Street will allow the MTA to make Sandy-related repairs to the Clark Street tunnel under the East River, the agency said.
This means that Brooklyn straphangers will not be able to take the 2 or 3 into Manhattan on weekends from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. until spring 2018.

But the MTA will extend local service on the 4 and 5 trains — which passengers can pick up at Borough Hall and Nevins Street — to make up for the inconvenience.
- Both 4 and 5 trains will run local in Brooklyn
- All 4 train service will be extended to New Lots Avenue to replace the 3 train
- All 5 train service will be extended to Flatbush Avenue to replace the 2 train
In Manhattan, the 2 train will run express between the Bronx and 34th Street-Penn Station, then run locally to the South Ferry station and the 3 will run between 148th and 14th streets.
