Ingersoll Housing Stabbing Suspect Hospitalized And Unconscious

Police are waiting for the suspect in the Ingersoll Houses stabbing to regain consciousness so that he may be questioned.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — The investigation into a fatal stabbing at the Ingersoll Houses early Sunday morning has come to a halt as police wait for their primary suspect, who has been hospitalized, to regain consciousness, police said Monday.

The suspect is believed to have repeatedly stabbed 41-year-old James Johnson in the torso at 30 Fleet Walk around 6 a.m. Sunday morning, police said.

Johnson was pronounced dead by emergency responders and a knife that police believe to be the murder weapon was found in the apartment, said police.

The 42-year-old man who police identified as a suspect was hospitalized Sunday after he suffered from a medical condition unrelated to the crime, police said.
