Reports Of Person On Tracks Stalls F Train Traffic Tuesday, Officials Say

F trains were rerouted to the A line so the FDNY could investigate reports of a person on the tracks.

DUMBO, BROOKLYN — Reports of a person hit by a train at the York Street station stalled F train traffic Tuesday afternoon, said the FDNY.

Emergency responders rushed to the F train station at Jay and York streets around 4 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a 911 call about a person hit by a train, said an FDNY spokesman.

"Not confirmed but overheard nypd: F train I was on might have hit someone," straphanger Maggie Puniewska wrote on Twitter."We stopped at York Street and were told to leave."

A victim was not immediately found at the station, said the FDNY.

Emergency responders were still looking for a person on the tracks at 4:30 p.m., the FDNY spokesman said.

The MTA warned commuters to expect delays and redirected F trains to the A line between Jay Street-MetroTech to West Fourth Street-Washington Square, according to an announcement on the agency’s website.
