Watchtower Sign In Brooklyn Heights May Be Slated For Removal
Jehovah's Witnesses have filed an application with the DOB to remove the Watchtower sign from their former Columbia Heights headquarters.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — It’s the end of the Watchtower era.
Jehovah’s Witnesses have filed an application to remove the 15-foot-tall Watchtower sign from their former headquarters at 25-30 Columbia Heights, nearly one year after the building was sold to developers, city records show.
The application, which was filed with the Department of Buildings on June 9, estimates that it will cost $70,500 to remove the red LED-lit letters, which have shone over Brooklyn for almost 50 years.

The application came several weeks after Kushner Companies, CIM Group and LIVWRK Holdings — developers who bought the building for $340 million in 2016 — announced plans to transform the building into a luxury office space and rename it “Panorama.”
The developers declined a request to comment and Jehovah’s Witnesses representatives didn’t respond to messages from The Real Deal, who originally reported the story.
