1 Person Injured, 3 Residents Displaced After Hicksville House Fire: NCFM

Fire marshals say approximately 80 firefighters were on scene Thursday night, battling a fire.

HICKSVILLE, NY — One resident had minor burns after a house fire in Hicksville on Thursday night, fire marshals said.

The Hicksville Fire Department received a call for a 2-story house on fire at 9:06 p.m., the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office said. The fire was in the interior of the home on August Lane, fire marshals said.

Three adults have been displaced, and one woman suffered smoke inhalation and minor burns and was transported to a nearby hospital, fire marshals and Nassau County police said.

Fire marshals said the fire was brought under control within 45 minutes with approximately 80 firefighters on scene. Hicksville FD was assisted by mutual aid fire departments from Westbury, East Meadow, Syosset, Levittown, Bethpage, and Jericho – all under the command of Chief Wright, fire marshals said.

The fire is under investigation by the NCFM's Office and NCPD Arson/Bomb Squad, fire marshals said. The local building department was notified to respond, but the Red Cross was not notified, fire marshals said.
