His term begins July 1 alongside fellow new trustees.
2. Hicksville School Budget Results Are In: All Incumbents Lose Reelection Bids (patch.com) — Hicksville voters have approved the 2026–2027 school budget, raising spending to about $186.3 million and increasing the tax levy by 2.58 percent while staying within the cap. Voters also chose three trustees—Kim Raspanti, Ryan Chaplin, and Mary Dwyer-Johnson—unseating two incumbents and filling one open seat.
3. Major revitalization project approved for Hicksville (midislandtimes.com) — A major $61 million Cornerstone Hicksville project has been approved, bringing 106 new apartments and ground-floor retail right by the Hicksville LIRR station. It joins several other ongoing downtown projects, plus new parks, plazas, and streetscape upgrades that aim to make Hicksville more walkable, vibrant, and attractive for residents, commuters, and local businesses over the next few years.
4. Molloy University's Spring 2026 commencement returns to Jones Beach Theater – The Long Island Times (litimes.org) — Hicksville residents can cheer on one of their own: Grace Wilson of Hicksville was named salutatorian for Molloy University’s Class of 2026 at the Jones Beach Theater commencement. The ceremony celebrated more than 1,000 graduates, featured remarks from university leaders, and honored journalist Jo Napolitano for her work on education and social justice.
5. Eighth grade students take ‘A Walk in Their Shoes' (midislandtimes.com) — Hicksville Middle School eighth graders just wrapped up a World War II project that had them writing journals and creating artifacts from the viewpoint of people who lived through the war. By portraying German citizens, Japanese Americans in internment camps, and U.S. soldiers before D-Day, students practiced empathy and critical thinking while deepening their understanding of history.
