Nassau Man Choked Woman And Bit Her Face 'Multiple Times' In Argument That Turned Physical: Police

HICKSVILLE, NY — A Hicksville man was cuffed Friday after Nassau police say he attacked a 27-year-old woman by choking her and biting her face.

Officers responded to a Harding Avenue home for a disturbance on Friday at around 10:30 p.m., found that an argument took place between the 21-year-old man, and a woman, 27, and it escalated into a physical altercation, according to police.

The man then struck and bit the woman in the face multiple times before forcibly grabbing her around the neck and applying pressure, "making it difficult for her to breathe," police said.

The woman was able to contact a family member, who in turn, called police on her behalf, according to police.

She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she is currently listed in critical, but stable condition, police said.

The man was placed under arrest without incident, and further investigation revealed that he was in violation of a valid order of protection, according to police.

He was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree criminal obstruction of breathing, and aggravated criminal
contempt.

He was held for arraignment at First District
Court in Hempstead.
