Avoid Ronkonkoma Branch This Weekend, LIRR Says

Buses will replace trains between Ronkonkoma and Hicksville to accommodate track work.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is urging commuters to avoid the Ronkonkoma Branch due to ongoing track work taking place this weekend.

Buses will replace trains between Ronkonkoma and Hicksville to accommodate the track work, according to the Long Island Rail Road. All trains will originate and terminate at Hicksville.

Those taking the LIRR on Saturday, Jan. 27 or Sunday, Jan. 28 should instead take the Port Jefferson or Babylon branches with half-hourly service, the LIRR says.
