BMX Champion Brings Tricks, Life Lessons To Hicksville Students

HICKSVILLE, NY — East Street Elementary School students had front-row seats to a world champion BMX rider shredding up their gym.

The world champion athlete and youth motivational speaker Chris Poulos showed off high-level stunts to the students. Poulos also gave a presentation on values, such as spreading kindness, anti-bullying and positive character development.

East Street Principal Joe Messana said Poulos' BMX skills and purposeful discussion captured the students' attentions.

"The assembly left a lasting impression, empowering students to reflect on their behavior and encouraging them to do their best for themselves while treating others with kindness and respect," he said.
