Cops Seize $200K in Counterfeit Goods From Nassau Residents: Police

Four people were arrested after police found counterfeit designer handbags, scarves, watches and jewelry in their possession, police say.

Five Nassau County residents were arrested Monday after authorities seized more than $200,000 in counterfeit designer handbags, scarves, watches and jewelry, police say.

According to authorities, four of the arrests were a result of a two month investigation into trademark counterfeiting and the fifth person arrested faces drug possession charges. Detectives executed numerous search warrants over the past two months and arrested the following individuals:

  • Fern Ciraolo, 53, of Hewlett Harbor
  • Justin Ciraolo, 21, of Hewlett Harbor
  • Jack Huzarsky, 74, of Syosset
  • Alyssa Reichel, 49, of North Woodmere
  • Elsa Bonilla, 31, of Westbury

Police say Fern Ciraolo did display counterfeit goods in her Harbor Road home and offered the items for sale on October 28 and November 9. She was charged with two counts of second-degree counterfeiting. Following her arrest, Justin Ciraolo, of the same address, was found to be in possession of numerous narcotics, police say. He was also placed under arrest and charged with four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana.

Huzarsky displayed counterfeit designer merchandise and offered to sell the items in his 205 Chevrolet Equinox in the rear parking lot of 421 Glen Cove Road in East Hills, on November 8, police say. He was charged with second-degree counterfeiting.

Reichel did display counterfeit designer merchandise and offered to sell the items at Ego Trip inside the Cheveux Day Spa and Salon, located at 964 Broadway in Woodmere, on October 13 and November 11, police say. She was charged with two counts of second-degree counterfeiting.

Bonilla displayed and offered to sell counterfeit designer merchandise at ELSY Salon, located at 179B School St. in Westbury, on October 28 and November 11, police say. She was charged with four counts of second-degree counterfeiting.

All four who face counterfeiting chargers were issued a desk appearance ticket returnable at First District Court in Hempstead. Justin Ciraolo will be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court.
