Distraction Robbery At Hicksville Gas Station
BREAKING: Two men robbed the gas station early Monday, police say.
HICKSVILLE, NY - A Hicksville gas station was robbed early Monday morning, according to Nassau Police.
A 49-year-old male employee at the Mobil station on 285 North Broadway was helping a man open an outside bathroom door after he had complained the key issued to him would not open it at about 12:34 a.m.
A second man was then seen by the employee enter into the gas station and steal from the cash register, police said.

A brief struggle ensued with the employee as both men fled on foot with the proceeds. The second man forcefully pushed a newspaper rack into the employee, police said.
The two men were seen running east towards East Bethpage Road. There were no injuries reported.

The first man was described as Hispanic/Middle Eastern, 5-foot-8, with a thin build and wearing a white V-neck T-shirt and dark shorts.
The second man was described as Hispanic/Middle Eastern, 6-foot, with an average build, a black beard and wearing white sweat pants, a white T-shirt and a dark bandana covering his mouth.
