Fake Lawyer Tries To Bilk 86-Year-Old In DWI Scheme: Nassau Cops
BREAKING: Police say he told the man his grandson was arrested for DWI in an Atlantic City crash and that a pregnant woman was hurt.

CARLE PLACE, NY — Police arrested a man in Carle Place who they say concocted a scheme to bilk an 86-year-old man out of thousands of dollars.
Elvis Espinal-Duran, 30, of Copiague, was arrested around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nassau County police said.
Espinal-Duran contacted the 86-year-old pretending to be a lawyer for his grandson, fraud investigators said. He told the victim the grandson was arrested for DWI stemming from a crash in Atlantic City and that a pregnant woman was hurt.

The victim was told a judge would release his grandson if he forked over $7,500 in cash. Espinal-Duran instructed the man to take out money from the bank and call him back to arrange a meeting for the cash drop.
When the victim called his son to discuss the situation, they called police.
