NEW CASSEL, NY — A 26-year-old man who was fatally shot Sunday night in New Cassel has been identified by police as Qur'aan Williams.

A GoFundMe page was created to help the family honor him properly.

As stated in the description, Williams was known as "Q" by those closest to him.

He "enjoyed showing his engineering skills as he loved to build things," the person wrote. "His family is heartbroken and their lives are forever changed."

In the first 24 hours, the page received $4,000 in donations.

"Due to this sudden and tragic loss, the family is in need of assistance to cover Qur’aans Celebration Of Life."

Police have not made any arrests in connection to Williams' death.
