Firefighters Respond To Early Morning Fire At Hicksville Home: PD

Nassau County police said residents escaped from a burning Hicksville home after a fire broke out on the second-floor.

HICKSVILLE, NY — Firefighters were called to a Hicksville home early Wednesday morning after a fire broke out on the second-floor, Nassau County police said.

The fire broke out at about 1:51 a.m. at a home on George Avenue and the residents who live there were able to get out safely without any injuries, a police spokesman said. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, police said.

The Hicksville and Bethpage fire departments both responded to the blaze, according to Bethpage Fire - Engine 4 & Ladder 4’s Facebook page. Area firefighters responded to at least two fires, including the one in Hicksville and another in Westbury over Tuesday night, according to the Nassau County Fire Service Academy’s Facebook page.
