Food, Insults Hurled At 3 People On Hicksville Street: Cops
Richard Bauman faces assault and aggravated harassment charges, police say.

HICKSVILLE, NY — A Hicksville man has been charged with an assault after throwing food and hurling insults and three people from his car.
The 19-year-old male victim was speaking with his aunt and uncle on Woodcrest Road when an unknown man stopped his 2012 Hyundai Sonata and began throwing food at him, authorities said.
The driver also screamed hateful and demeaning comments at the three people based on their national origin, police said.

The victim told the man to leave. As he drove away, he charged at the victim, striking him in the face with a closed fist, before fleeing the scene, police said.
An investigation led to Bauman's arrest without incident.

He is charged with third-degree assault and second-degree aggravated harassment. He was due to be arraigned on Thursday.
