Hicksville Fire Department Swears In Commissioner, Chief, Assistants

HICKSVILLE, NY — The Hicksville Fire Department held a swearing-in ceremony for the newly-elected chief and commissioner at its headquarters on Monday, the department announced.

Joseph Difronzo was installed as chief of department; Chris Wright as first assistant chief; Mike Murphy as second assistant chief; and Matt Keyer as third assistant chief.

Gerard Mulholland was installed as the newly-elected commissioner.

"Special thanks to retiring commissioner and former chief Al Merk along with outgoing chief Chris Moskos for their dedicated service to the department and community," the department wrote.
