Nassau House Fire Displaces More Than A Dozen Residents: Police
It happened just before 8 p.m. on Saturday.

HICKSVILLE, NY — Residents were forced to evacuate as their Hicksville home was on fire Saturday evening, police said.
Officers responded to the home on West Cherry Street as a fire started in the rear yard just before 8 p.m. and spread to the home's exterior.
All 14 residents were able to evacuate safely and without injuries, police said.

The Hicksville Fire Department extinguished the flames.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal determined the building was not safe and the Red Cross provided temporary housing to the displaced residents, police said.

Detectives determined that the blaze was not suspicious.
