Hicksville Man Rescued From Burning Home By Firefighters

The man suffered burns and smoke inhalation, police say.

HICKSVILLE, NY — Firefighters saved a man from his burning home on Wednesday night in Hicksville, Nassau police said.

Officers responded to Ninth Street for a house fire at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. A 65-year-old man was the only person inside and was rescued by Hicksville firefighters. He suffered burns and smoke inhalation and was taken to a nearby hospital.

No one else was injured, police said.

The Bethpage Fire Department helped extinguish the flames. Arson Squad detectives are investigating the cause of the fire.
