Hicksville Man Stabs Person in Chest During Argument: Police

The incident occurred Sunday morning, police say.

A Hicksville man faces assault charges after he stabbed another man in the chest during an argument Sunday morning, police say.

According to authorities, Brian Aimar, 20, was involved in a verbal argument with a 42-year-old man while sitting inside his 2007 Nissan Altima on Dartmouth Drive in Hicksville at 5:58 a.m.

The 42-year-old man exited the vehicle when the argument escalated, causing Aimar, while still seated in the car, to reach through an open driver’s side window and stab the man in the chest, police say.

Aimar fled the scene while the other man called police, according to authorities. The man was transported to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, police say.

Aimar was placed under arrest an hour later on Cambridge Drive following an investigation. The knife was recovered, police say.

He is being charged with second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He will be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
