HICKSVILLE, NY — Hicksville Middle School students celebrated the Lunar New Year with crafts and festivities.

Students participated in hands-on projects, creating arts and crafts as a way to celebrate the Year of the Horse. They learned the importance of the meaningful holiday and why it is a significant celebration of the year.

The activity taught students cultural traditions and encouraged appreciation for the diverse backgrounds that many schools across Long Island have, including the Hicksville Middle School community.
