This CEVA award is presented to districts that commit to comprehensive, engaging, and high-quality visual arts programming for students. There are six principles that a district has to have, according to NYSATA VISION:

  • Visual Arts
  • Instruction by certified art educators
  • Sequential, standards-based curriculum
  • Inclusivity, equity, and accessibility
  • Opportunities
  • Next-generation artists

The district also had to ensure there was visual arts instruction provided at all grade levels, that all students have access to this education, and that the district promotes its visual arts programs and showcases students' and educators' accomplishments related to the subject.
