Hicksville School Budget Results Are In: All Incumbents Lose Reelection Bids
The district has announced the results of its budget and board of education election.

HICKSVILLE, NY — The Hicksville School District's 2026-2027 budget passed by more than half the votes on Tuesday.
The budget of $186,315,191 was approved by a vote of 1113-506.
This was an increase of 3.04 percent from the current 2025-2026 $180,811,423.

Kim Raspanti, Ryan Chaplin, and Mary Dwyer-Johnson were elected to the Trustees of the Board of Education, and all seats were contested.
For incumbent Irene Carlomusto's seat (she was not running for re-election), Raspanti received 980 votes against opponent Carolina Sanchez-Molina, who received 518 votes.

For incumbent Danielle Fotopoulos' seat, Chaplin received 890 votes, winning the seat against opponent Fotopoulos, who received 656 votes.
For incumbent Sunita Manjrekar's seat, Dwyer-Johnson received 988 votes, winning the seat against Manjrekar, who received 596 votes.
The budget carries a proposed tax levy increase of $121,514,425, which equals an increase of 2.58 percent from the current 2025-2026 tax levy of $118,463,674. This amount remains in the district's allowable tax levy cap.
