Hicksville Schools Host Senior Citizens For Lunch And Show

Seniors enjoyed hors d'oeuvres, a salad and an entree as well as performances by Hicksville High School's artistic groups.

From Hicksville Schools: The Hicksville community’s senior citizens enjoyed a second afternoon of food, fun and entertainment as the Hicksville School District hosted its 27th annual Spring Senior Citizen Luncheon on May 2 at Hicksville High School. In November, the district welcomed senior citizens to the high school for its annual fall luncheon.

Members of Hicksville High School’s National Honor Society served the hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour as well as salad and one of three entrées for diners to choose from. Coffee and tea were also served. Guests were treated to special performances by the school’s Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Singers, String Ensemble and Theater Department. Student artwork was on display for viewing. Hicksville Superintendent of Schools Marianne Litzman welcomed the senior citizens and thanked them for their contributions to the community through the years. Just a few days later, the district hosted the annual Senior Citizen Prom, also at the high school. The Senior Citizen Luncheon continues to be a fun, intergenerational tradition that brings students and their elders together for an afternoon of feasting, fine arts and conversation. The district is pleased to provide this service as a special thanks to all of its senior citizens in the community.
