Hicksville Senior Named To National Hispanic Recognition Program
A Hicksville high school student has been invited to participate in the College Board National Hispanic Recognition Program.

HICKSVILLE, NY – A Hicksville high school student has been invited to participate in the College Board National Hispanic Recognition Program.
Senior Alejandro Gonzalez will participate in the program, which aims to create pathways to college for students from underrepresented communities. The programs award academic honors and connect students to universities and scholarship opportunities around the country.
Students who take the PSAT and identify as Hispanic American or Latino are considered for the Hispanic Recognition Program. They must meet the minimum PSAT score, which varies each year, as well as earn a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher to qualify.

"Colleges know that students who have earned this recognition are some of the most talented across the country," said Principal Raymond Williams. "You serve as an example that there is so much potential in every students."
Gonzalez is currently exploring colleges and how best to pursue his interests in math and actuarial science.
