Latin Kings Gang Member Nabbed In Nassau Home Invasion: Cops
Police say three men forced their way into a home looking for another man, then robbed the place and held one victim at gunpoint.
WESTBURY, NY — A self-described Latin Kings street gang member has been arrested in connection with an armed home invasion in Westbury.
Jose Tejada, 37, of Memphis, Tennessee, was taken into custody and moved to Nassau County, police announced Friday morning. Tejada faces robbery, burglary and weapons charges and is expected in court Friday in Hempstead.
On July 26, 2018, a 50-year-old man opened his front door after hearing the doorbell ring and three men told him they were looking for a renter. When the man told the trio the renter wasn't home, they forced their way into the home, police said.

Two of the assailants pulled out handguns and forced the man to the floor, police said. One of them, identified as Julio Vasquez, a 24-year-old member of the Latin Kings, stayed with the man as Tejada and the third assailant went into a bedroom. The trio left shortly thereafter and the man discovered a television and gaming console were missing.
Vasquez, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, was arrested last month in connection with the break-in, police said. He was also charged with burglary, robbery and criminal use of a firearm.
