Masked Man Robs Westbury Carvel At Knifepoint

Two employees were in the store at the time of the robbery on Sunday night, police say.

Detectives are investigating a knifepoint robbery that occurred at a Carvel store in Westbury on Sunday night, police say.

According to authorities, a masked man entered the store, located at 801 Carman Ave., displayed a large knife, approached two store employees and demanded cash from the register at 8:02 p.m. The employees complied and the robber fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say there were no customers inside the store during the robbery and no injuries were reported.

There is no description of the robber at this time. Police say there is no confirmation that this robbery is part of a pattern of similar knifepoint robberies in the area although the investigation is ongoing.
