Step Back In Time: Hicksville’s History Comes To Life This Weekend
New documentary explores the hamlet's early days and invites residents to share memories of the past.

HICKSVILLE, NY — A documentary showcasing the early history of Hicksville will be shown this weekend at the Hicksville Public Library.
The 40-minute documentary will focus on the town's growth, and following the screening, attendees will be given the chance to share their own stories about the Hicksville they knew from years ago.
The storytelling program will take place on Saturday, April 11, at 1:30 p.m. at the Hicksville Public Library at 169 Jerusalem Avenue.

"Greetings From Hicksville" was produced by Oyster Bay Today and narrated by Supervisor Joseph Saladino. It will feature individuals who played an important role in shaping Hicksville during the 19th and 20th centuries, including Vlanetine Hicks, John Heitz, Frederick Heine, and more. There will also be special guest appearances from community members and residents.
"'Greetings From Hicksville' is a tribute to the hardworking men and women who built this remarkable community," Saladino said. "We are proud to preserve and share the stories that shaped Hicksville and helped make it the thriving hamlet it is today."
