Tire Thief Causes $30K In Damages At Westbury Car Dealership

BREAKING: A person or persons broke into the dealership, stole tires and damaged vehicles, police say.

A person or persons broke into a Westbury car dealership, stole 20 tires and caused more than $30,000 in damages on Tuesday morning, police say.

According to authorities, the person or persons entered the property of Westbury Fiat, located at 928 Jericho Turnpike, through a hole in a chain linked fence on Waterbury Road around 2:50 a.m. They then stole 20 tires with rims from at least six vehicles using a floor jack and left the vehicles on elevated cinder blocks, police say.

The damage from the cinder blocks is estimated to be around $30,000.

Police say there is no description of the person or persons responsible.

Detectives request that anyone with information regarding the above crime to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800- 244 –TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
