A 35-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday for breaking into a Hicksville home and stealing a dog she gave away two years ago, police say.

According to authorities, Jaime Grant-Hewson, of Ronkonkoma, gave away her Jack Russell terrier to a 50-year-old Hicksville woman due to a hardship. Grant-Hewson recently asked for the dog to be returned to her, but the woman refused, police say.
