Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming Opens 2nd LI Location

HICKSVILLE, NY — A dog grooming and shop has opened its doors in Hicksville, the second of the franchise on Long Island, and the owners shared that their dog, Betty, was the inspiration behind their decision.

Co-owners and Port Washington residents Kyle and Julie Hoberman opened a Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming storefront in September 2024 in Port Washington, and most recently, a Hicksville location on South Oyster Bay Road.

Kyle said they are currently working towards developing additional locations throughout Nassau County. Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming was founded in Florida in 2007 and has more than 400 stores across the nation.

Reflecting on the idea of opening the storefront, Kyle said they have shared a love for dogs and animals ever since they first met. He said after adopting their miniature goldendoodle, Betty, in January 2022, their lives were truly transformed. Betty celebrated her fourth birthday at the store this past December.

"Betty brought immense joy, companionship, and a deeper sense of purpose to our daily routine," Kyle said.

He shared that it was the experience with their pup that prompted them to partner with Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming to open their own store in Port Washington to create a place that "celebrates the bond between pets and their owners."

The Hicksville, Plainview, Woodbury, and surrounding towns represent what they look for in a strong community, Kyle said.

"It is vibrant, community-oriented, and filled with passionate dog lovers, making it a natural next step for our expansion," he said.

He also added that entrepreneurship has long been a shared goal for both of them.
