1 Seriously Hurt In 3-Vehicle Crash In Dix Hills: Police

It happened Sunday when a vehicle fishtailed and struck two other vehicles, Suffolk police say.

DIX HILLS, NY — A woman was seriously hurt in a crash involving three vehicles in Dix Hills Sunday morning, Suffolk police said.

A Plainview man was driving a 2017 Porsche northbound on East Deer Park Road, near Arielle Court, at around 8:40 a.m., when it began to fishtail on the road, police said, adding that the vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and struck a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox driven by a Commack man.

The Porsche continued northbound and struck a southbound 2022 Volkswagen driven by a Huntington Station man, according to police.

The Huntington Station man, 52, sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while his passenger, a 43-year-old East Northport woman, was seriously hurt, and both were taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, police said.

The Plainview man, 52, and the Commack man, 72, were not hurt, according to police.

The vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said.

Detectives from the 2nd Squad in Huntington are continuing to investigate.
